Berlin, Irving (Israel Isador Baline) Born in Tyumen, Russia 5/11/1888; died 9/22/1989 of natural causes in New York City. Married Dorothy Goetz (died of typhoid five months later ?-?); Ellin Mackay (1926-?). Berlin came to America in 1893. Writer of over 1,500 songs (many of them classics) including White Christmas and God Bless America (writen especially for Kate Smith in 1938). Radio debut on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1932. Berlin provided the theme, "Any Bonds Today?" for the U.S. Treasury Department's, "Treasury Star Parade" that was transcribed, available to all radio stations (1942-1944).

Berlin made his television debut on The Ed Sullivan Show (Toast of the Town) on CBS in 1948. Host-star of the 1951 NBC-TV special, "Irving Berlin: Salute To America."
