Naish, J. Carrol (birth name was Joseph Patrick Carrol Naish)
Born in New York City 1/21/1897; died 1/24/1973 in La Jolla, California. Married to actress Gladys Heaney (1929-1973 his death). On stage in Paris and New York prior to his 1932 screen debut in The Hatchet Man. During his long career, Naish appeared in over 250 movies usually playing Italian or Latin Americans, although he was of Irish descent. He was nominated for a 1945 Best Supporting Academy Award for his role in A Medal For Benny. Last movie was Dracula vs Frankenstein (1971).
