Born in Vineland, New Jersey 5/7/1906; died 11/16/1991. Educated at Rutgers University and Arnold College. He made his radio debut in 1924 playing the violin on a local Philadelphia station.

Radio scripters would sometimes use aliases. Jack Johnstone sometimes used "Jonathan Bundy" -- E Jack Neuman used John Dawson. And YTJD himself, Bob Bailey, wrote the "Carmen Kringle Matter," but used the name Robert Bainter to do so. Bainter was his middle name.

My grandma, who lived with the family as an au pair in 1950, said that Jack's nickname for his wife was Bundy, hence the last name of his alias.
