Pierce was an All-American at the Indian University until his 1921 graduation. On stage as lead in Deerslayer (1923). Coach at the Glendale, California high school. Played Tarzan in Tarzan and the Golden Lion (1927). Tarzan on the WOR-Radio program of 364 episodes broadcast as a three-times- a-week serial (1932-1934). During WWII Pierce helped form the National Air- men's Reserve, which became the Air National Guard. Until his death, Pierce was an active board member for the Edgar Rice Burroughs, Incorporated, the licensing agency for the use of the Tarzan name.
