Spoiler : Born in St. Louis, Missouri 11/10/1907; died 4/22/1980 of heart failure while asleep in Columbia, Missouri. Froman studied journalism at the University Of Missouri before attending the Cincinnati Conservatory Of Music. Froman began her radio career as a singer on station WLW- Cincinnati (1931), then joined the Paul Whiteman band briefly. Screen debut in Stars Over Broadway (1935); afterwards made one more movie, Radio City Revels (1938). Signature tune was, "With A Song In My Heart," (also the title of her movie biography starring Susan Hayward in 1952). Entertained troops the world over during WWII; 1943 was involved in a Lisbon plane crash that seriously injured her, from which she never fully recovered.
