Spoiler : He was great in just about everything he was in tho--and very handsome. I felt kinda guilty when he played Jesus in King of Kings cause I thought his eyes were so sexy---lol!

Spoiler : Died at age 42.....couple years before had accident in movie with concussion and then fell down stairs and had brain bleed.....he was quite a handsome fella and when Anson Mount played Jeffrey role on Star Trek, his son Christopher applauded him and said Anson looks a lot like his father

Spoiler : King of Kings was my favorite, but interestingly, He starred in the pilot episode of the original Star Trek series entitled "The Cage" which was made in 1964, 2 years before the actual T.V. series starred, the episode came out in the series as a 2 part episode called, " The Menagerie." From what I heard tho I don't know if this be true was that Jeffrey Hunter was the one originally considered for the role of the Captain in the series.

Spoiler : I read that Jeffrey Hunter died from a fracture skull he got falling down some stairs in his home. Yet, in the movie The Searchers, he was in a fight scene that, in the movie appeared he banged his head in a stunt fall, very badly.

Spoiler : He was so handsome. All his movies were good, a great actor.

Screen debut in Fourteen Hours (1951). Last movie was The Hostess Also Has A County (1969). Temple Houston on the NBC-TV series (1963-1964). Captain Pike on the pilot for Star Trek on NBC-TV (1966).

Spoiler : I have done a lot of research on Jeffrey Hunter. Emily was his third wife. He was an only child born in New Orleans and raised in WI. He was stateside during WWII in the Navy. Jeffrey Hunter had money problems during his adult life. He was an alcoholic and smoked. In an interview with his son Chris (Barbara Rush 1st marriage) he said his dad was such an alcoholic that when his dad died from the fall he would have soon died from drinking anyway. His second wife Dusty ruined his life and career in Hollywood. She was very controlling and pushed him into bad decisions. Dusty made him quit the original Star Trek series when he was offered the lead. Hunter lived a sad unstable life.

Spoiler : Such a handsome talented man. He breathed something bad on location. He did not see a doctor. that caused his fall. SO SAD!

Spoiler : He was caught in an explosion gone wrong beforehand. His career was over as a major star for years. His one shot at second chance at stardom was lost when he turned down Star Trek's second pilot.
