Spoiler : Most Old Time Radio fans know that Jim Ameche, brother to movie actor Don Ameche (who played Alexander Graham Bell), was radio's first Jack Armstrong. He was being interviewed by somebody who obviously didnt know his background. The interviewer asked him what other programs he was on, other than Jack Armstrong. Ameche mentioned several soap operas where he may have played a part....Frustrated, I began screaming at the computer....What about the Silver Eagle. The Silver Eagle was a Northwest Mountie who had a French Canadian sidekick who had a very powerful bow. When they would sneak up on the bad guys who were usually sitting on a log in front of the campfire, Joe Bibeau (bee dough) would fire an arrow which was tipped with eagle feathers, into the log and Jim West, the Silver Eagle, would say "I arrest you in the name of the Crown." The program, sponsored by Wheaties, was heard every Tuesday and Thursday, alternating with the Lone Ranger at 7:30 on ABC. Unfortunately it came too late for radio's Golden Age and was not made into a TV program. I think the Silver Eagle could have given Sgt. Preston a run for his money.
