Spoiler : Fidler, Jimmy (birth name was James M. Fidler) Born in St. Louis, Missouri 8/24/1900; died 8/9/1988 in Westlake, California. Married and divorced to Dorothy Lee (?-1931?); Virginia Roye (?-?). Graduated from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Some sources credit Fidler with beginning his career acting in silent movies, but so far, nobody has ever found any credits in movies for him, except a couple later cameos in 1938's Garden of the Moon (he also collected information for the script); cameo in Personality Parade (1938); appeared in, and was the subject of Screen Snapshors number 5 in 1947. Fidler was the former president of Jimmie Fidler In Hollywood, Valley Vista Productions, National Foundation for Underprivilaged Children of America, Golden Network, Inc., Personalized Service, Inc and Jimad Dairy Farm, Inc of Oregon.

Spoiler : Fidler became a newspaper man following WWI, then was an editor for the Hollywood News (1920). He made his radio debut in 1932, to become, "Your Hollywood Reporter" and "Hollywoods First News Commentator" reporting on RKO's Hollywood on the Air (1933-1934).

Spoiler : At his peak during the 1940's, Filder was heard by some 40 million listeners on 500 radio stations, and his newspaper column appeared in some 360 newspapers. Host of The Jimmy Fidler Show with news and gossip from Hollywood on the NBC, CBS, ABC and Mutual Radio Networks (1934- 1951). The program was syndicated from 1951 until the 1980's with Fidler producing the program until 1983. At the time the program ended, it was still carried on over 100 stations. Host of Hollywood Opening Night on NBC-TV (1952-1953).

Spoiler : I seem to remember Mr Fidler being on the radio as late as the early 70s. I was just a kid but I think remember I him on the radio announcing the death of Dan Blocker.
