Spoiler :
Barclay, John Born in Bletchingly, Surrey, England 5/12/1892; died 11/21/1978 in Los Angeles, California.
The above is one of three broadcasting personalities named John Barclay, the only one with birth and death credits. Anyone with help to straighten out the three Barclays would appreciated by everyone.
Spoiler :
The first Barclay, was the Blue Coal Distinguished Heating Expert on The Shadow when the series was sponsored by Blue Coal during the 1930's and 1940's.
Spoiler :
The third Barclay played Mr. Conway on the NBC-Radio soap, Lonely Women (1942-1943). Doctor Richard Gaylord on the CBS-Radio soap, The Guiding Light during the middle 1940's. One of two actors to play Inspector Argyle on Silver Eagle, Mountie for ABC-Radio (1951-1955)
Spoiler :
Probably very belated note but for the record, John Barclay on THE SHADOW was just a spokescharacter, a fictional personality, played by different actor-announcers (often Paul Huber).
I'm pretty sure the Chicago radio soap opera John Barclay was the same as this one, since they worked in the same region, though few shows of those soaps survive to compare vocally. So only one actual John Barclay as a radio actor, as far as I can tell.
