Gart, John (birth name was John Marion Gart)
Born in Russia (some sources say Poland) 6/6/1905; died 9/28/1989 in Winter Haven, Florida. Son of opera and concert singers. Attended the Moskow Imperial Konservatory Of Music. At age sixteen came to America with his father on tour. After his father met with an accident, Gart was on his own and became an organist with Loew Theaters. At age seventeen or eighteen, Gart became the music director-chief organist for all of the Lowe Theaters. Organist, composer, and conductor for many radio and television shows.
