Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico ca 1896; died 7/19/1970 at age 74 of a stroke in Puerto Rico. He was a Black actor that was a movie, stage, radio and circus star. Actor and writer for radio beginning in 1935. Screen debut in Intruder In The Dust (1949). Last movie was They Call Mr Mr. Tibbs (1970).
