Studied to be an opera singer. Began her career with brother Zeke and sister Annie on stage in Ziegfeld's production of Calling All Stars. Screen debut with In Caliente (1935). Radio debut on (Fleischmann Hour) The Rudy Vallee Show for NBC in 1933. Regular on The Paul Whiteman Show (Musical Varieties) for NBC-BLUE (1936-1937). With brother Zeke and sister Annie (The Three Canovas) was featured on radio programs including Rippling Rhythm Revue for NBC-BLUE (1937) The Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy Show for NBC (1938-1939). Star of The Judy Canova Show on the CBS and NBC Radio Networks (1943-1953). Guest star on many television programs including The Ina Ray Hutton Show for NBC (1956) and (her first dramatic role) on Alfred Hitchock Presents for NBC (1960).
