Darby, Ken (birth name was Kenneth Lorin Darby)
Born in Hebron, Nebraska 5/13/1909; died 1/24/1992 in Sherman Oaks, California. Darby studied piano at age five; trumpet age nine. Pipe organ player at the Forum Theatre (1928-1929). He formed the King's Men Quartet in 1929. Bass singer-piano player for the Paul Whiteman orchestra (1934-1937). Invented Munchkin voices for The Wizard Of Oz movie in 1939. On staff with Walt Disney Studios (1940-1947).

The King's Men group was featured on The Fibber McGee And Molly Show for NBC (1940-1953). The group was the summer replacement for the program in 1949. The Ken Darby Chorus was featured on The John Charles Thomas NBC-Radio program (1943-1946).
