Dobkin began his career as a child actor on the New York stage. Served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Screen debut playing the assistant DA in Not Wanted (1949), then played group chaplin Captain Twombley in Twelve O'Clock High (1949). Last movie was playing Lukyan in Rogue Spear (1999).
