Charteris, Leslie (Leslie Charles Bowyer Lin Yin) Born in Singapore, China 5/12/1907; died 4/15/1993 in Windsor, England. Son of a Chinese father and an English mother. Changed his name legally by deed poll in 1926. Moved to America in 1932 and became a citizen in 1941. Writer of novels Meet The Tiger (1928) and Enter The Saint (1930) featuring his criminal hero Simon Templar. Using the pseudonym of Bruce Taylor, wrote scripts for the NBC and ABC Radio Networks Sherlock Holmes program during the 40's. The Saint was on NBC-Radio (1945); CBS-Radio (1945 and 1947-1948); Mutual-Radio (1949- 1950); NBC-Radio (1950-1951). Roger Moore played Simon Templar on the British syndicated television version of, The Saint aired on NBC (1967-1969); Ian Ogilvy played the Saint on Return Of The Saint for CBS-TV (1979-1980).
