Flatt, Lester (Lester Raymond Flatt) Born in Overton County, Tennessee 6/19/1914; died 5/11/1979 of a heart attack in Nashville, Tennessee. Flatt of the bluegrass musician team of Flatt And Scruggs. With Earl Scruggs composed, sang and played the theme, The Ballad of Jed Clampett" that used as the theme for The Beverly Hillbillies on CBS-TV (1962-1971). The team also made many guest appearances on the program as themselves playing friends of the Clampetts.
