(birth name was Fredrick Lewis Ayres III) Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, 12/28/1908; died 12/30/1996 while asleep at his Los Angeles, California home. Married to Lola Lane (1931-1933); Ginger Rogers (1934-1941); English woman Dinah Hall (1964); former airline stewardess Diana Hall (?-?). Ayres began his career on a tour of Mexico with his own band, then became a member of Henry Halstead's orchestra. Signed a movie contract in 1928 and made his screen debut in "The Kiss" with Greta Garbo in 1929. Doctor Kildare on the syndicated radio series, The Story Of Dr. Kildare (1950-1952). Host of Frontier Justice on CBS-TV (1958). Henry Wade Culver on Lime Street for ABC-TV (1985).
