Every detail is spot-on. Makes me wonder how long it took them to set the whole thing up. But then again, Hurrell was a genius. He probably had the whole thing mapped out long before and it only took minutes to shoot!

Moran, Lois (Lois Darlington Dowling) Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 3/1/1909; died 7/13/1990 of cancer in Sedona, Arizona. Married to Clarence M. Young (1935-1972 his death). Screen debut in Stella Dallas (1925). May "Mom" Herrick on the syndicated television series, Waterfront (1953-1956). Retired following the end of the series.

Lois Moran Moran (1909 – 1990) was an American film and stage actress. Moran was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Moran's career beginnings included film roles in "Just Suppose" (1926), "The Road to Mandalay" (1926) and "The Irresistible Lover" (1927).

In 1927, she had a short affair with writer F. Scott Fitzgerald who just moved with his wife to Hollywood in order to write a flapper comedy for United Artists. Lois became a temporary muse for the author and he rewrote Rosemary Hoyt, one of the central characters in Tender is the Night, (who had been a male in earlier drafts) to closely mirror her.

Moran next focused her career on film, appearing in "Words and Music" (1929), "Mammy" (1930) and "Under Suspicion" (1930). She also appeared in "Transatlantic" (1931), which is the year the photo below was taken by famed photographer, George Hurrell.
