Nye began acting in local theater in his home town, then moved to New York where he worked on radio from the 940s to the early 1950s, Nye appeared in radio dramas and comedy shows. Last movie was providing his voice for characters in Inspector Gadget: Gadget's Greatest Gadgets (1999).
