Born in Mexico, Missouri 7/18/1908; died 12/13/1986 of Alzheimer's disease in Versailles, Missouri. Attended The Univarsity of Missouri and San Diego State Teachers College before turning to show business for a career. She began her radio career in 1931 on local Missouri stations of KFRU; KMOX; WIL. In 1933, she was discovered by Gus Edwards and hired by NBC as a staff vocalist.
