Spoiler : Janssen and Milner talked Eastwood into becoming an actor. Eastwood was a swimming instructor at Fr Ord, while Milner was assigned to the Human Research Division where he directed military training films, and served as Master of Ceremonies for a touring show based at Ft Ord.

Spoiler : Milner met Jack Webb while filming The Halls of Montezuma (1950), they became quick friends, Webb hired him to be in many of his movies, as well in 1952 he appeared on three Dragnet radio programs as Joe Friday's partner (4/17, 4/24 and 5/8) before Webb settled on Ben Alexander to become became Friday's partner until the end of the series. Milner was a regular performer on many radio shows during the late 1940s until the middle 1950s.

Spoiler : Martin Milner (Martin Sam Milner) Born Detroit, Michigan, December 28, 1931 (grew up in Detroit and Los Angeles) Age 83 He was Joe Friday's temporary partner, Bill Lockwood, on Dragnet when Ben Alexander needed time off from the show. This was Marty's first work after his discharge from the Army.

Spoiler : Born in Detroit, Mich. 12/28/1931. Married to Judy Jones since 1957. Milner's father was Sam, a film distributor, his mother was Jerre Martin, a former dancer with the Paramount Theater circuit. His father got an agent for him, which got him the role of John Day in Life With Father (1947). After the movie, Milner got polio, which it took him a year to recover from. He graduated from Hollywood High, then studied at the University of California for a year. From 1949 to 1952, he appeared in many films. In 1952, he was drafted into the Army, was stationed at Ft Ord, California where he met made friends with actor David Janssen and Clint Eastwood.
