Maury was my uncle, my mother's older brother. His baby brother, Lew, was also a musician, working in movies and TV alongside Maury as well in symphonic settings. Lew went on to become a professor emeritus after a long career teaching social and organizational psychology at Claremont College. Maury, sadly, died in his early fifties, so I only have a few clear memories of him.
