Born 6/22/1909 in Brooklyn, New York. Died 8/14/2006 of pneumonia in a New York City hospital. At an early age he became interested in music, by age eight was playing concerts. Announcer and pianist at New York radio stations WOR and WQXR. He became a member of Arturo Toscanni's NBC Symphony of the Air. During WWII, he was an accompanist of Jascha Heifetz, touring the world to entertain troops.

In the 1950s he began working in television, providing music for the children's programs Big Top and The Rootie Kazootie Show. Kaye wrote the theme, and was music director for Concentration on NBC-TV (1958-1973).
