Born in Richmond Hill, New York 12/10/1913; died 2/21/1996 in Orlando, Florida. Married to Shirley Banks (?-?). Gould was a piano prodigy at age four, and he wrote his first composition at age six. He studied piano at the Institute of Musical Art, now known as Juilliard. By the age of seventeen, he was a staff pianist at the Radio Music Hall. Joined ASCAP in 1936. Recording artist on Columbia, Decca and RCA Victor record labels. Composer of American Salute and Pavanne.
