Born in Portland, Oregon 3/31/1921. Martin began singing, winning local contests. She never studied music, but was able to sing E above high C with perfect ease and clarity. Discovered by Eddie Cantor, became a featured vocalist on The Eddie Cantor Show for NBC-Radio (?-1944-?).
