Born in Pasadena, California 11/8/1916; died 11/28/1979 in Sherman Oaks, Cali- fornia. MacDonnell began his career as a tour guide at CBS-Radio in Hollywood (1938), founding the Columbia Radio Players that same year. Served in the armed forces during WWII. Joined CBS-Radio as an assistant director in 1946.

Director for CBS-Radio programs including Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar (1949); Honest Harold on CBS (1950-1951); Suspense on CBS (1949-1950). Producer of Rogers Of The Gazette on CBS-Radio (1953-1954). Writer for The Sears Radio Theater on CBS-Radio (1979).
