Born in Toledo, Ohio 9/6/1885; died 9/6/1974 (his birthday) of a stroke and cerebral vascular complications in Woodland Hills, California (had suffered his first stroke in 1964 that forced his retirement). Studied music as a child, then while attending Columbia University, he decided to embark on a career of acting. Screen debut in When The Call Came (1915). Last movie was Sex, And The Single Girl (1964). Guest star on many radio programs including Nobody's Children for Mutual (1939-1941).
