Spoiler : Born in Sheffield, Alabama 5/22/1891; died 10/4/1970. Educated at The University of Georgia and Emory University. Served as an army officer during WWI. He worked in advertising, and worked as a cotton broker until 1932 when he created an interview show with Jerry Belcher. The program was called Sidewalk Interviews on KTRH-Houston (1932-1935), then the program became known as Vox Pop on station KTRH-Houston, and the NBC, CBS and ABC Radio Networks (1935-1948). After the end of the series, Johnson retired to his Texas ranch, working in real estate.
