Paul Douglas (Paul Douglas Fleischer) Born Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 11, 1907 Died Los Angeles, California, September 11, 1959 Age 52 (heart attack) Instead of going to Yale after his high school graduation, he joined up with the Frankford Yellow Jackets professional football team (precursor to the Philadelphia Eagles). That led to a contract as sports announcer for radio station WCAU. CBS moved him to New York, where he was not only announcer but voice actor. And then he moved to Hollywood to become a successful film star. Wow.

Douglas graduated from Yale, and began his career as a pro-football player. Began working on radio at station Worked at WCAU-Philadelphia. Screen debut with an uncredited role in Calling All Tars (1935), then A Letter To Three Wives (1948). Last movie was The Mating Game (1959).
