11th May 1911, Phil Silvers, the American entertainer and comedy actor, known as "The King of Chutzpah" was born. He was best known for starring in The Phil Silvers Show, a 1950s sitcom set on a U.S. Army post in which he played Sergeant Bilko, but can be heard on several old time radio shows on RUSC, including performances in Suspense, The Big Show, and Command Performance.
