Spoiler : Dick was a real professional, very sharp. He could also be very particular if directing a show. He and his wife were good friends of mine. I met him in the 60s doing live theater. Although a tough director, you could enjoy working for him because when you were doing something well, he gave you a Compliment. His wife Janice was also an accomplished actress also. We and other theater folks had some great times, some great "after show parties", and laughs about our faux pas and mistakes ! Most of us also drank way too much in those days. It must be a thing with Theater people. Maybe a release of all the tension and stress. I miss Dick and Jan, and think of them often. I will pass your site around to friends.
