In its Jan. 3, 1942 issue, Billboard reported O'Connor's humorous connection to the war coverage from the previous month. It mentioned announcer O'Conner, who was then at WCCO in Minneapolis: "In the first 48 hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor, O'Connor had broken into so much regular programming with war updates that finally, to relieve the tension, he announced on the air, "We interrupt the news flashes to bring you a regularly scheduled program.'"

The only television work found for O'Connor, is he appeared in the December 24, 1955 episode of Fury for NBC titled, "Junior Rodeo."
