Black trumpet player formed his own band in 1926, then played with various bands including brother's Eldridge Brothers Rhythm King and Connie's Hot Chocolates, Fletcher Henderson's Stompers, Johnny Neal's Midnight Ramblers, Three Dueces, McKinney's Cottonpickers, Oliver Muldoon, Gene Krupa, Cecil Scott, Elmer Snowdon, Charlie Johnson, Teddy Hill, Gene Cooper, Paul Baron, Artie Shaw, Zack White and Steve Webb.
