Spoiler : Hodges, Russ (birth name was Russell Patrick Hodges) Born in Dayton, Tennessee 6/18/1910; died 4/19/1971 in San Francisco, California. He attended The University of Kentucky and was a football star until an ankle injury ended his ball career. In 1931 he began working at WCKY-Covingtion, Kentucky; WIND-Gary, Indiana (1935); WBT- Charlotte, North Carolina (1939); WOL-Washington, D.C. (1941). In 1945 he moved to New York where he remained until the New York Giants baseball team moved to San Francisco, California. During his career, he called games for The Washington Senators; New York Yankees; New York Giants; San Francisco Giants, as well he provided play-by-play action, and blow-by-blow action for football, and boxing.
