Born in Brookly, New York 9/12/1910; died 2/23/1981 of a heart attack in Los Angeles, California. Fields led a band while studying law at St. John's University, not completing his education as he left school when his father died.

The Shep Fields Orchestra was known for it's "Rippling Rhythm" sound, a sound which he perfected by blowing bubbles in water with a straw. Among the hit tunes recorded by the group, was Jersey Bounce; Thanks For The Memory. The orchestra was on screen in The Big Broadcast Of 1938. The Shep Fields Orchestra was featured on radio programs including Rippling Rhythm Revue for NBC-BLUE (1936-1937); Mutual (1942-1944).

Fields retired from performing in 1963, became involved with a talent agency, then in the 1970s, Fields and his two brothers formed their own talent agency.
