Jones, Spike (birth name was Lindley Armstrong Jones) Born in Long Beach, California 12/14/1911; died 5/1/1965 of emphysema in Los Angeles, California. Married and divorced to Patricia Ann Middleton (1935-1945); vocalist Helen Grayco (1954-1961). Member of Dwight Defty and John Scott Trotter bands before he formed his own group called, "Spike Jones And His Five Tacks."

Spike Jones And His City Slickers were featured on Furlough Fun on NBC West Coast (1942-1944); Armed Forces Radio show of The Purple Heart Program (1945); Spike At The Troc (aka Spike's At The Mike) originating from the Trocadero Nightclub for Mutual Don Lee Network (1946); Spike Jones Spotlight Revue sponsored by Coke for CBS-Radio (1947-1948), then the title changed to The Spike Jones Show (1948-1949).
