Kenton, Stan (birth name was Stanley Newcombe Kenton) Born in Wichita, Kansas 2/19/1912; died 8/25/1979 of a stroke in Los Angeles, California. He was injured in a 1977 fall which required brain surgery. Married to Violet Rhoda Peters (?-?), Ann Richards (?-?). Kenton was raised in Los Angeles, California. Kenton was a pianist in many bands including Gus Arnheim before he formed his own band in 1941. He was a recording artist on record labels of Decca, Capitol, and his own label called Creative World.
