Ben'et, Stephen Vincent Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 7/22/1898; died 3/13/1943 of a heart attack in Manhattan, New York. Graduated from Yale in 1919 and had published two volumes of poetry while in college. His college novel, "The Beginning Of Wisdom" was published in 1921. Pulitzer Prize for his poem, "John Brown's Body" (100,000 word narrative that sold over 180,000 copies). This author's material was adapted to shows on radio programs including The Cavalcade of America, The Columbia Workshop, The Free Company, Hallmark Hall of Fame NBC Presents: Short Story, The Pursuit of Happiness and The Radio City Playhouse. One of several writers for the 13 week special WWII docu-drama, This Is War! that was broad- cast on all of the radio Networks from February, 1942 until May, 1942.
