My maternal grandfather. Started out in Michigan with vaudeville group The Five Freshman. Stranded in Hollywood when one member/manager ran off with the money. I believe he started out with “Our Dancing Daughters” (1928) and sang and was an extra in over fifty films for the next forty years (Hans Christian Anderson, Dr. Zhivago, How the West Was Won, The Greatest Story Ever Told). With his remaining Freshman, recorded for Walt Disney Studios. Died of cancer in the SAG support Motion Picture Hospital in 1977.
