Pearson, Ted (birth name was Theodore Anders Pearson)
Born in Arlington, Nebraska 11/3/1902; died 10/5/1961. After graduating from high school in Arlington, Nebraska, Pearson moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked with a road paving gang while modeling for art classes. He attended MacPhail School of Music, then the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. During a visit home in Nebraska, he met a radio executive who offered him a job working at radio station WJKS-Gary, Indiana where he spent 12 hours a day on the air announcing, interviewing people, singing and reading monologues. After an NBC talent scout discovered Pearson, he moved to Chicago to announce for NBC RED and BLUE programs, later moving to New York and Hollywood. Screen debut playing Harnet in Navy Blue and Gold (1937).
Last movie was playing a colonel in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951).
