Spoiler : McCrary, Tex (birth name was John Reagan McCrary, Jr.) Born in Calvert, Texas 10/13/1910; died 7/29/2003 in Manhattan, New York. Married and divorced to Sara Brisbane (1935-1939); Jinx Falkenburg (1945-2003 his death). Falkenburg and McCrary had been separated for many years, they never divorced. McCrary was educated at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire and Yale University. He began his career in 1932 as a reporter for The New York World-Telegram. In 1936 he went to work for The Daily Mirror, later was an Editorial chief for the Mirror. McCrary first met his future wife, Falkenburg in 1941 when he interviewed her for a story. Served in the U.S. Air Corp during WWII, discharged as a Colonel.
