Born in London, England 11/26/1907; died 5/6/1989. This trumpet playing bandleader came to America as a child with his family and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Studied trumpet under Max Schlossberg, then joined the Original Dixieland Jazz Band in 1926. Later he was a member of bands of Ambrose; Cass Hagen; Vincent Lopez; George Olsen; Rudy Vallee.
