Hanlon, Tom (birth name was Thomas Anthony Hanlon)
Born in Fort Scott City, Kansas 11/7/1907; died 9/29/1970 in Hollywood, California. Hanlon became chief announcer at KFI-Los Angeles in 1936. By 1939, Hanlon was working at CBS Columbia Square - KNX-Los Angeles as an announcer, disc jockey, newscaster and sportscaster. After being night manager of KNX, he began announcing sports games, covering major league games in multiple sports for his station and chain. Screen debut playing Tiny in The Collegians (1926). Last movie was playing the football announcer in The Bob Mathias Story (1954).
