Howard, Tom (birth name was Thomas J. Black)
Born in County Tyrone, Ireland 6/16/1885; died 2/27/1955 of a heart attack in Long Branch, New Jersey. He came to America with his parents in 1896, settling in Pennsylvania. He began his career in 1905 on stage in vaudeville and burlesque, later performing in Broadway musicals and
revues. Screen debut playing Amos K. Shrewsberry in Rain Or Shine (1930). Last movie was playing Tom in Grooms in Gloom (1936).

Howard was a comedy partner of George Shelton. The comedy team of Howard and Shelton were featured on radio programs including The Rudy Vallee Show for NBC (1935); Saturday Night Party for NBC (1936-1937); Model Minstrels for CBS (1939-1940).
