Production head at WTAM-Cleveland (1935). Program manager at NBC-Cleveland (1937). Creator and first commander of The Armed Forces Radio Service (AFRS) during WWII. Lewis is credited by some sources as the creator of The Screen Guild Theatre (The Gulf Screen Guild Show, The Gulf Screen Guild Theater, The Lady Esther Screen Guild Theater, The Camel Screen Guild Players) on the CBS, NBC and ABC Radio Networks (1939-1952). Profits from that program was used to found the Motion Picture and Television Country Home in California.
