Spoiler : O'Connor, Charles (birth name was Charles Peter O'Connor) Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts 6/10/1910; died 3/17/1942. Attended Boston College for a year, then dropped out to tour with a stock company. Beginning in January of 1931, he became an announcer at WBZ-Bostonan NBC affiliate. The same year, he became an NBC staff announcer. On March 1, 1932, O'Connor and a few colleagues built a mobile radio transmitting station that was mounted on a truck to report on the Lindbergh baby kidnapping in Hopewell, New Jersey. In June of 1936, O'Connor, Nelson Case, Howard Claney and Fred Bate covered the arrival of the Queen Mary's maiden voyage in New York harbor for NBC in what was a festive gala. O'Connor continued broadcasting news and sports games until his death in 1942. His only film credit is playing an uncredited role of a businessman in The Ramparts We Watch (1940).
