She continued in radio as a student at UCLA in Los Angeles. We remember her for her work on CBS shows in the 1950s: Gunsmoke, Fort Laramie, CBS Radio Workshop, and Have Gun Will Travel. Otherwise, she did a few movies and thousands of Folgers Coffee commercials as caffeine expert Mrs. Olson. Virginia spoke with the standard Iowa twang, not a Norwegian accent.

Regular performer on radio programs including Gunsmoke for CBS (1952-1961); Confession for NBC (1953). Guest star on most all television western and dramatic series from the early 1950's through the 1970's. Ovie on Tales Of Wells Fargo for NBC-TV (1961-1962). Mrs. Olson in the Folgers Coffee commercials (1970-1985).
