Spoiler : Born in Los Angeles, California 3/22/1917; died 7/31/2004 of heart failure at the Motion Picture & Television Fund facility in Los Angeles, California, where she was living. Daughter of former actor and director Ray Grey, who died when she was eight, and Florence Grey, a film cutter for Universal Pictures. Grey was never married. Screen debut playing Eva in Uncle Tom's Cabin (1927). Last feature movie was playing Mrs Schultz in 1970's Airport. Television character actress from 1950 to her retirement in 1970.

Spoiler : March 22, 1917 - July 31, 2004 In a career spanning six decades, she appeared in over 100 movies. After the death of Carole Lombard, Grey was in an on again/off again relationship with Clark Gable. Many, including Virginia herself, were expecting him to marry her. She was left heartbroken when he married Lady Sylvia Ashley in 1949. When Gable and Ashley divorced in 1952, Gable didn't rekindle the romance with Grey. Her friends said that her hoping and waiting for him was the reason she never married.
