Spoiler : The other day I was thinking about Walter Tetley. I know of no other person who just goes around thinking of Walter Tetley. haha. I read where his condition kept him from getting roles and he died living in a trailer. Nothing wrong with trailers per se...but I hope he knew how much talent he had and how much people loved him as an actor?? I LOVE it when he is on The Great Gildersleev..and Phil Harris.

Spoiler : Believe it or not I think about his talent as well. Hard to think oh him as Sherman in the Peabody cartoon, knowing his work with Gildersleeve, and Phil Harris. And then when you see him in videos, it is like the voice does not match. I heard that he had a motorcycle accident in 1976 and never was the same. His health went down from there until he died. I just thought he was a perfect fit for Gildy and Phil Harris Show!

Spoiler : I would think so. Phil Harris always said before the show when introducing Walter that he was the one who always stole the show. I think his Julius role on the Phil Harris show was perfectly brilliant. He was okay on Gildy, but absolutely superlative on Harris.

Spoiler : Julius is such a great fool for Phil and Frankie. Perfect writing, voice, and attitude. If I ever had time to devote to researching and writing a biography, it'd be Walter Tetley's. The more I learn about him, the more interesting his life story becomes. Heck, you could make an amazing fictional screenplay based solely on the speculations surrounding Tetley, but I'd rather find out what the truth is. Unfortunately, since all the principals are long gone, chances of that may be lost, as well.

Spoiler : Incredible child impersonator. I'd never have known he was a grown man.

Spoiler : James Baskett (1904-1948) - American actor known for his portrayal of Uncle Remus, and singing "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" in the 1946 Disney feature film "Song of the South". In recognition of his warm portrayal of the famous black storyteller he was given an Honorary Academy Award, making him the first black male performer to receive an Oscar.
