Died 3/28/1997 at age 86 at his Studio City, California home. Lewis began his career in 1939 as a writer for CBS-Radio programs including episodes of The Silver Theater and Stars Over Hollywood. Director for radio programs including Four Star Playhouse on NBC (1949); Nightbeat on NBC (1950-1952); Mr. And Mrs. Blandings on NBC (1951). Producer of radio programs including Here Comes McBride on NBC-Radio (1949); Confession on NBC (1953). Producer/director for The Silent Men on NBC-Radio (1951-1952).

Sometime in the early 1950's, Lewis joined the NBC Television Network as a writer/producer. One of the founders (with Dick Powell, Don Sharpe and Charles Boyer) of Four Star Productions in 1956. Later formed a television production company with Don Sharpe. Producer of television programs including the syndicated series, Terry And The Pirates (1952); Stage 7 on CBS (1955); Wire Service on ABC (1956-1957); Yancy Derringer on CBS (1958-1959).
